Parathyroid Fees and Medical Insurance

Parathyroid Surgery Fees and Insurance

WE ACCEPT AND WILL WORK WITH ALL MAJOR UNITED STATES INSURANCE PLANS

CONSULTATION AND CHART PREPARATION FEE: $400 (This fee is not covered by insurance and is the complete responsibility of the patient). We charge a one-time fee to the patient of $400 paid in advance for chart preparation and consultation. This involves the following steps: 1) Obtaining from the patient, endocrinologist and private medical doctor all pertinent laboratory and imaging tests. 2) Review of previous medical records by a panel of experts on diagnosis of primary hyperparathyroidism. 3) Entry of data into our specialized electronic medical record and parathyroid database. 4) Phone consultation with patient to review findings and to determine if you have parathyroid disease, how significant the hyperparathyroidism is and if you are a candidate for parathyroid surgery. 5) If you are a surgical candidate, arrangements will be made for you to travel to the New York Center for Advanced Parathyroid Surgery.

SURGERY FEE: We will obtain approval for surgery and arrange payment with your insurance company if you have United States Insurance. This covers surgeon, anesthesia, anesthesiologist, x-ray, hospital, laboratory, operating room, operating room team, and recovery room.

HOTEL AND TRAVEL ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PATIENT.

PATIENTS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES AND WITHOUT MEDICAL INSURANCE
The total cost if you do not have insurance and must pay for the operation out of pocket is $9,750 USD. This covers all consultations, chart preparation, surgery, anesthesia, anesthesiologist, x-ray, hospital, laboratory, operating room, operating room team, and recovery room. The only other additional costs are travel and hotel.
